Imogene in The Best Christmas Pagent Ever!

I must say, I was taken by surprise by this incredible performance! Ellie Played Imogene Herdman... this evil little wicked brat who terrorized the children in the cast along with her "mean brother and sisters... the other Herdmans". Ellie was the lead in this play and was just so convincing in her role! I am so proud of this budding actress... she has talent with tons of personality! It is fun to watch her grow in all she does... Great Job Ellie! We love you.

The "Bright Star" with her biggest fans!

Mom and Famliy loved the performance... Fantastic!

James and Ben Ready for the 1st Annual Turkey Leg 5K!!

I (Dad) am the designated "water boy"... turns out I could not quite keep up!!

The Finish!

I must say, Ben I were huffing and puffing the whole race to stay up with James! I'm proud to say that James finished in 29:20! And, as you will see in this video, once we got close to the finsish line, James LEFT US IN THE DUST! Great Race James!!

This is not for the faint of heart... Hiking & Fishing In Wyoming

We Started for Wyoming on Sunday the 9th and came back home at midnight on the 13th.
The following will take you on a little journey that "Is not for the faint of heart..", as quoted by my good friend Craig Bickmore.
Craig, Jason, Eric and Nate were the best of hiking a fishing companions.
I think I speak for all of us... I can't remember the last time laughing so hard!
Hope you enjoy this... but there is only one way to really experience for yourself... strap on a pack loaded for 5 days, but remember, this "Is not for the faint of heart...".

Day 1... "?" Rock

On our way into 20 Lakes, we use this wonderful rock as a guide post... what do you think the name of this rock is? A little hint... it starts with an "L" and ends with a "D"

Day 1... I'm Glad Craig was leading!

You gotta have a good trusty guide... Craig knows this country like the back of his hand... well maybe like the underside of his foot. Let's just say, If I was leading the charge, we would end up back at the car.

Day 1... On the trail.

Actually, the trail we are on is not on the official maps, so you really have to have someone who understands how to navigate these rugged mountains. Preparation is so important. Be prepared. Be prepared! Did I mention that you must Be PREPARED!!

Day 1...Good Water

I've never had Giardia, but from what I've heard, I don't want to find out first hand how it feels to be puking out my guts... therefore, we filter our water happily!

Day 1... Girls hiking... what??

It was awesome to see this 21 year old guide with her young 16 and 17 year old companions. They were on day 11 of 25!! Amazing!

Day 1... Respect these mountains.

All I have to say about these mountains is "be prepared". The weather can turn from blue skies to dangerous lightning storms within about 30 minutes. If you are prepared, it's all fantastic!

Day 1... We made it to our camp site.

There is not a better spot in these mountains to set up base camp.

Day 1... Dinner!

I love to eat after burning 3000+ calories to get to our base camp! We walked for 6 hours and 45 minutes.

Day 2... good fishing!

These fish are so lively!

Day 2... A few different varieties of trout.

Cutthroat, Brook, Lake, Bullhead (I think), California Goldens, and a few others...

Day 2... Back at Camp.

Here is a satisfied bunch...

Day 3... Bear Rope

Always hoist your food up in a tree when you leave camp!

Day 3... More Fish

Day 3... Best Fish!

Caught this Cutthroat on a Red Belly Humpy. About 18 inches and a real good fighter!

Day 3... Windy!

Day 3... Lakes & Streams

Day 3... Cool Stream.

Day 3... TV Fuzz

Jason calls a thick bunch of flying bugs "TV Fuzz".

Day 3... Having Fun

Just hung the bear rope... having a laugh.

Day 3... Nice Fire

Now this is a nice fire! It does not, however, keep the bugs away... contrary to popular belief.

Day 4... This is a maze

Just by looking at this innocent snap shot of a beautiful expanse of forest, you would never know the pitfalls that wait. Precise navigation becomes essential if you want to get where you are going in these wonderful mountains. From where we are standing in this picture, there is really only one "good" way to get to the other side, although it may look simple. Lot's of great lessons from this one little snapshot!

Day 4... Top of the Summit

The hike to the top of this summit was for me incredible. Fall into a rythym of controlled breathing, and become one with the trail... there is nothing quite like it! The only word that comes to mind is "Beautiful". Anyway, now that I have waxed poetic for a moment, be yanked back into reality with a look at 5 very smelly, ugly men.

Day 4... On our way home.

This trip was fantastic! I grew closer to some great friends and now look forward to the next opportunity to make our way through these powerful and magnificent mountains. One thing I did not mention earlier... we all woke up at 1 am on the last day of our trip. I had the burning to desire to go look at the stars. Jason and Nate and I came out of our tents, the bright moon rising in the east, and witnessed what I would consider to be a miracle... in about 15 minutes time... we saw 10 or more shooting stars in the most vivid, cloudless sky I have ever seen. After a few more good belly laughs, we went back to our tents and fell fast asleep.
I have gained a more perfect understanding of one thing during this trip: "The only real time there is is now and the only place we are is here... drink it all in."
